Drum & Dance Team Practice

The drum and dance team is open to all youth and adult members of Achewon Nimat lodge. We meet on the second Saturday of each month at Epiphany Lutheran Church in San Leandro, 9:30 a.m. to about 2:00 p.m.

We learn native singing and druming, learn powwow and specialty dances, work on regalia, and just have a good time in fellowship. We also break for lunch and get some awesome sandwiches from a local deli.

• From San Francisco, Oakland, and San Leandro, take 580 East. Exit at 164th Ave, turn left, and left again on 164th Ave, then left again on Foothill. At Carolyn turn right and the church entrance is on the right. We meet at the social hall in the back parking lot.
• From Twin Valley and Castro Valley take 580 west, and just when it turns north towards Oakland, take the Carolyn Ave exit. Cross Foothill Blvd, and enter the church parking lot.
• From Hayward, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Fremont and Union City, take 880 north, then 238 east, then 580 West. Immediately upon entering 580, take the Carolyn Ave Exit as described above.
